Consultant General Surgeon(AS)

Job Description:

HCL International is currently recruiting for a Consultant General Surgeon to be based in a friendly NHS Treatment Centre based in Manchester.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1)Take ongoing responsibility for patients under them.
2)Participate in the development of the General Surgery service, treatment protocols and guidelines and the greater knowledge in the management of conditions.
3)Take a lead in the management of patients.
4)Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues in other specialities and participate in regular clinical meetings.
5)Take responsibility for the professional supervision and development of trainee doctors within the speciality.
6)Develop and maintain good communications with General Practitioners and colleagues from acute hospitals.
7)Demonstrate a firm involvement in clinical governance, risk management and clinical audit - this will include the development and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continuous safe clinical practice.
8)Share responsibility for data protection arising out of the use of computers.
9)Doctor will be expected to participate in all aspects of clinical governance. The appointee is required to participate actively.

Important: It is desirable that doctor must be eligible for Full and Specialist GMC Registration in relevant speciality
